About the Center for International Business
Welcome to the Center for International Business at Loyola University New Orleans, a dynamic institution with a rich history. Founded by Dr. Joseph Ganitsky, the Center began its journey under his leadership until 2005. After a period of dormancy, Dr. Jeffrey Krug breathed new life into the center in 2010 when he assumed the role of the inaugural chair-holder of the Jack and Vada Reynolds Endowed Chair. Dr. Krug not only reactivated the center but also ushered in a new era by renaming it the Global Business Association. His tenure, marked by proactive engagement, lasted until around 2015.
Following a brief period of inactivity, the center experienced a renewal in 2018 under the leadership of Dr. Gustavo Barboza. Appointed as the Jack and Vada Reynolds Endowed Chair, Dr. Barboza brought renewed vigor to the Center for International Business, revitalizing its mission and impact. With a commitment to fostering global perspectives and connections, the center has become a hub for international business education, outreach, and collaboration.
The Center's expanded commitment reaches many parts of Loyola University. We work closely with the Center for International Education for all the study abroad programs offered to students, the Center for Entrepreneurship and Community Development for community conferences and speaking engagements, and the Center for Ethics and Economic Justice for student engagement in various programs and events.
