CIB Student Fellows
Center for International Business Student Fellowship Program
The Center for International Business (CIB) Research Fellowship is a year-long, research-driven program designed to develop students’ academic inquiry, professional skills, and global awareness.
Guided by Dr. Gustavo Barboza and Dr. Alessandro Braga, the fellowship offers a range of academic and professional development opportunities, along with a $1,000 stipend awarded upon successful completion ($500 at the end of each semester).
As a Fellow, you’ll participate in:
- Monthly Lunch Colloquiums: Monthly lunch colloquiums are hands-on research development sessions that support Fellows as they build their projects throughout the academic year. During these meetings, faculty mentors guide students through key stages of the research process, including topic refinement, literature review, methodology, analysis, and presentation. Fellows use colloquium time to share progress, workshop drafts, ask questions, and receive feedback from faculty and peers.
- Guest Speaker Seminars: In addition to colloquiums, Fellows attend guest speaker seminars hosted by the Center for International Business. These sessions feature professionals and scholars who share insights related to international business, global markets, and career pathways.
- Podcast Project: Fellows collaborate in small groups to produce a podcast episode focused on an international business topic of their choice. Podcast themes may include discussing an international business issue or trend, hosting a guest speaker or professional, interviewing fellow students, or reflecting on experiences as International Business majors or Fellows. - Research Project: Beginning in the fall semester, Fellows select an international business–related research topic and develop it throughout the academic year with guidance from CIB faculty mentors. The research project culminates in a formal academic poster, which Fellows present at the Center for International Business’s annual academic conference in late spring.
